All set to final phase of GP polls in Telangana tomorrow

Campaigning for the third and final phase of gram panchayat elections came to a close on Monday in the State with 4,116 gram panchayats set to elect their sarpanches and ward members on December 30. As many as 573 unanimously chose their sarpanches. In the rest of the 3,529 villages, 11,667 candidates are in fray. Of the 36,729 wards that are up for grabs in the third phase, 8,956 already chosen their representatives unanimously, leaving 67,316 candidates in fray for the remaining 27,583 wards. Elections to the wards where polling was held up in three panchayats in Nalgonda, Nizamabad and Mancherial districts will also be held on January 30.
