Edupayala has fully loaded with devotees rush

A sea of devotees converged on the Vanadurga Bhavani temple at Edupayala in Papannapet mandal on Monday for Magha Amavasya, which was also observed as Mouni Amavasya.

Holy bath

With insufficient water at the Ghanpur anicut, officials made shower arrangements to devotees to take a holy bath instead of a holy dip. However, some devotees preferred to take a dip in the muddy water.As an alternative, the authorities pumped water to shower baths from bore wells.

From far and wide

Devotees came from not only erstwhile Medak district but also from Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Kamareddy and other districts. Long queues were witnessed at the temple.Temple executive officer Mohan Reddy and committee chairman Vishnuvardhan Reddy said over a lakh devotees took darsan of Goddess Durga Bhavani.The Chamundeswari temple and Kethaki Sangameswara temple here also witnessed huge crowds.
