TS Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy's mother passed away

Parige Papavva (107), mother of Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, passed away at the government hospital in Banswada on Tuesday late night. The funeral rites will be performed at Banswada on Wednesday afternoon. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Telangana State Legislative Council Chairman K Swamy Goud, MPs, MLAs and MLCs expressed shock and offered condolences to Speaker Srinivas Reddy. The Chief Minister telephoned the Speaker and offered condolences as well as prayed for strength to the family.


Papavva who has been suffering with age-related ailments for several months now. She was admitted to the hospital a couple of days ago after her condition deteriorated. She passed away at around 11 pm, while undergoing treatment. The members of the family including Speaker Srinivas Reddy rushed to Banswada upon learning about the sad news.


Srinivas Reddy was the third issue to Papavva and her husband Parige Rajireddy. The couple had three daughters and two sons. Throughout his political career, the Speaker is accustomed to take blessings of his mother before filing nominations and also taking charge of any new post. He followed the tradition even when he was elected as the Speaker of the Telangana State Legislative Assembly recently.
