Village people will be fined for violating GP rules

Hyderabad; Gram Panchayats will soon fine people for violating various rules such as Rs 1000 will be imposed for letting drain water on roads, Rs 500 for littering on streets and so on. Apart from that, people will be fined for washing clothes near lakes and make the animals drink the water from lakes and tanks. The newly elected sarpanches are being given training on their duties and responsibilities by the Telangana State Institute of Rural Development, said Panchayat Raj and Rural Development commissioner Neetu Kumar. Efforts are on to prevent the lakes from getting contaminated which in turn will lower down diarrhoea and other water-borne diseases.
