Hyderabad: The ensuing Lok Sabha election fever gripped the Congress party in the State. The race for party tickets among the aspirants was gaining momentum each passing day. News that a notification for general elections was expected to be released any moment in the last week of this month made the competition more exciting. In the undivided Nalgonda district, there are two Lok Sabha seats Nalgonda and Bhongir. While former minister and senior Congress leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has  already announced his intention to contest from the Nalgonda Lok Sabha constituency immediately after his defeat in the Assembly seat. There was no contender for this seat so far. However, there was huge competition for the Bhongir LS seat.

TPCC official spokesperson Chamala Kirankumar Reddy was seeking LS seat from Bhongir. He already met AICC incharge of the State RC Kuntia at New Delhi and urged him to allot the ticket to him, another party leader Addanki Dayakar, who unsuccessfully contested from the Thungaturti Assembly constituency in the recent Assembly elections, was also pleading with the party High Command to field him from Bhongir. Besides, TPCC treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy was also seeking the party ticket from the same seat.

On the other hand, the party BC leaders have been demanding that the High Command field a BC from the seat in the event of allocating Nalgonda LS seat to an OC leader. Several other party leaders were also planning to ensure their name figured in the list being sent to the AICC from the TPCC. The party leaders say clarity would emerge in the coming days.
