ECI issues suspension orders to Vikarabad collector

Hyderabad: Vikarabad collector Syed Umar Jalil suspended for violating election norms following the orders issued by Election Commission on Saturday. The Congress party demanded the state election commission to suspend the collector who allegedly removed the seals of EVMs when a petition pertaining to the Vikarabad assembly election was pending in court. The Congress leaders alleged that the collector opened around 120 EVMS even after aware of the pending case in the court. The EC which launched an inquiry presented the report to ECI which issued the suspension orders.
