Regional parties were all set to rule the nation at the Centre and with 16 MP seats in hand, TRS could play a vital role at the Centre, said TRS working president KT Rama Rao. He was confident that TRS would win 16 of the 17 MP seats in the State and ensure implementation of its just demands for its rapid progress in various sectors.

Lambasting the BJP and the Congress for ignoring people’s needs, Rama Rao stated that the country does not just belong to these two parties and neither of them would get complete majority in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

“Under these circumstances, TRS will have major say in national politics. If our party president K Chandrashekhar Rao could achieve seperate Telangana State with just two MPs, the day is not far when we can get our just demands fulfilled with 16 MPs on our side,” he said.

Addressing Congress ZPTCs and MPTCs of Devarakadra constituency who joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, Rao stated that neither the Congress nor the BJP made any major contribution to the State’s development. “People made Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister assuming that he would develop the country, but he gave brooms to people and asked them to sweep the streets. His demonetisation programme caused much agony to the poor and the needy,” he alleged.

He stated that though the Chief Minister repeatedly requested for sanction of national project status to either Kaleshwaram or Palamuru-Ranga Reddy projects like they did in case of Polavaram project, but Modi failed to respond on either demands. He said the Prime Minister and many others were copying schemes introduced by Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao.

“Even Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is copying our schemes and changing their names. He is asking us to remove our masks and asking Telugu people to join hands and teach a lesson to various political parties in the upcoming elections. But was not it Telugu people who taught him a strong lesson during the recent Assembly polls in Telangana?” he questioned.

Rama Rao recalled that Congress and TD which fought like snake and mongoose till recently, have become friends to contest the Assembly polls in Telangana only to realise that they were day-dreaming. He also ridiculed Naidu for stating that K Chandrashekhar Rao was ruling Telangana like an emporer. “Unlike Naidu who sits idle like Emporer Nero and plays fiddle, Rao is planting seeds of development like Emporer Ashoka. Hence, people had voted him to power for second consecutive term,” he said.

He also stated that TRS does not need to interfere in Andhra Pradesh politics as people understood that only when Naidu was thrown out of power, they would progress. He recalled that while Rao launched his own party to realise the aspirations of people of Telangana, Naidu backstabbed his own father-in-law to take over the political party to fulfill his dream of becoming Chief Minister. “Only Naidu can be considered as the care of address for putting on the masks, planning conspiracies, backstabbing people and changing alliances, to come to power. No one can compete with him in these categories,” he said.

He urged people of Mahabunagar constituency to campaign on behalf of TRS against Naidu in the neighbouring Kurnool district of AP and make efforts for the latter’s defeat during the upcoming polls.
