Hyderabad: The Prohibition and Excise department has asked officials of liquor depots across the State not to sell beer on February 27 and 28. The depots will not function from March 1 to 4. This means, there will be no beer stocks in wine shops. Orders also states that bill must be issued under Indian Made Liquor (IML) category. Of the total amount to be billed by each licensee, beer can be issued to the extent of 25 per cent in terms of sale value only. For instance, if a licensee seeks billing of Rs10 lakh then beer can be allowed to the extent of Rs 2.5 lakh. The above parameter of sale value is for each licensee and not on overall sale value of the depot.
