Students should strive to develop the PJTSAU: Praveen Rao

Professors and students should strive to develop the Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) as per international standards, said University Vice-Chancellor V. Praveen Rao here on Tuesday.


To attain international standards, he said, every one should be keen to avail themselves of the latest knowledge in the fields of technology and mechanisation.


He was speaking at a programme at the agriculture university where professors and agricultural scientists who visited University of Hohenheim, Germany, as part of a joint project on seed development between Germany and India recently. Prof. Praveen Rao shared details of their observations and discussions with the German counterparts in a powerpoint presentation for students.


He said that the Indo-German joint project would immensely benefit the university. The list of students to be sent to Hohenheim University would be prepared soon, he told the university officials. The V-C added that exchange of faculty and students was taking place, thanks to the MoU between the two universities, which are working together on seed science and crop patterns.


University Registrar S. Sudhir, who also visited German university along with Jagadeeshwar, director of Research, shared that there is one museum for every department there and Hohenheim University has the best ratio of professors to students among German universities. The Telangana State Agricultural University too would strive to achieve those standards, he said.
