Rahul's Chevella meeting may gives boost for T-Congress

Telangana Congress leaders are expecting that the public meeting of Rahul Gandhi in Chevella Lok Sabha constituency will be a mood changer and would bring cheer to the party. The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) leaders held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the meeting arrangements.

The leaders reiterated that the announcement of the details of the Minimum Income Guarantee Scheme would help the party in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. The TPCC expects a similar response as happened in the Medchal meeting that was addressed by Ms Sonia Gandhi and Mr Rahul Gandhi before the Assembly elections. But, though there was a huge response for her meeting, the TPCC failed to convert the support into votes. So, this time the TPCC is planning to follow different strategies.

The Congress had earlier planned to hold the meeting at Pahadishareef of Chevella constituency. However, the proposed venue was a private land and its owner refused to allow it to be used for a political meeting. So, the venue was shifted to Shamshabad.
