Hyderabad: Congress President Rahul Gandhi said here on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks about patriotism but spreads hatred.

"Should a patriot spread hatred or love," Gandhi asked while addressing a public meeting at Shamshabad to launch the Congress poll campaign in Telangana.

Alleging that Modi was trying to destroy the Constitution and suppress India's voice, the Congress President said it was the time to oust Modi.

He said when the Chinese Army entered Doklam, Modi visited China with folded hands. Even now the Chinese Army was present in Doklam, he claimed.

He said after learning about the terror attack in Pulwama, Modi was kept busy with shooting for a movie for three-and-a-half hours.

Stating that the Congress never bowed before anyone and that two of its Prime Ministers laid down their lives for the nation, Gandhi said that was real patriotism.

He slammed Modi for waiving Rs 3.5 lakh crore loans of 15 of the richest persons of the country but refusing to waive loans of farmers. He also said with demonetisation, the Prime Minister made people stand in queues, took away their money and put it in the pocket of Nirav Modi.

"Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi, Mehul Choksi and Vijay Mallya fled the country after taking thousands of crores of rupees from banks. But there were no actions against them," he said.

Alleging a "secret friendship" between Modi and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, Gandhi said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) had supported the Prime Minister on every issue.

"How many times did KCR question Modi on Rafale? Did he demand investigation into the Rafale deal? If not, why? Because KCR wants Modi to continue," Gandhi said.

The Congress leader also alleged Modi knew about KCR's corruption and KCR's remote control was in his hands.

Claiming the Congress gave the country white and green revolutions, computer and telecom revolutions and nationalised banks, Gandhi said if voted to power, the party will ensure minimum guaranteed income.

"After the 2019 polls, the government will decide minimum income. Nobody's income will be below a certain level," he said.

Gandhi assured farmers to not worry and promised to extend every possible help to them.

He also said if the Congress came to power, it will provide reservation to women in the legislatures. "Women will get reservation in the Lok Sabha, the Rajya Sabha and the Assemblies," Gandhi said.
