Hyderabad: TPCC working president A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday said he was willing to contest the ensuing elections to the Lok Sabha if the party high command directs him to do so. During an informal chat with reporters here, Revanth Reddy said he was ready to contest from any constituency the party directs him to fight the polls from. “This is not about winning or losing. This is about providing confidence to party cadres, given the political atmosphere in the State. When it is time to fight, it is time to do so. I believe that as a party leader, that is my responsibility,” he said.

The Congress party working president’s comments come even as the All India Congress Committee is grappling with finalising party candidates for the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana. It is expected to announce the names by either this coming Friday or Saturday. It may be recalled that Revanth Reddy, who contested from Kodangal constituency, lost the election to TRS’ Patnam Narender Reddy last December.
