Nizamabad: Farmers in Nizamabad on Thursday moved a lunch motion petition in Telangana high court to postpone elections stating that they need sufficient time to campaign and promote their symbols as the public do not have any idea of them. "As we are contesting as Independent candidates, we need time to take our symbol to the masses in our constituency," they said. They further appealed to the court to direct the election commission to conduct the election in the second phase through ballot paper instead of EVMs. On Monday, the farmers approached Election Commission to postpone the elections by 10 days saying they need sufficient time for campaigning.
