2 Children injured after explosion of phone battery

Karimnagar: Two children suffered grievous injuries after a mobile phone battery blasted. The incident occurred at Godavarikani on Thursday evening. The victims Venu and Akhil, both residing at Vittal Nagar have found a mobile phone battery and an electronic device at a nearby dumping yard. They connected the device to the battery after which it blasted. Hearing the sound, their family members rushed to them and found them injured. They were shifted to a government hospital in Godavarikani and were later shifted to a government hospital in Karimnagar. Akhil suffered an injury in his left eye while Venu lost his two fingers from his right hand.
