17-year-old girl committed suicide due to harassment by a stalker

Hyderbad: Unable to bear harassment by a stalker, a 17-year-old minor girl committed suicide late on Thursday night here at Ibrahimpatnam. Rukmini, a degree first-year student has been constantly harassed by one Pavan to accept his love proposal. Fed up over his harassment, the girl complained to her parents who warned him and asked to stayed away from their daughter.

However, the accused continued to harass her following which the girl hanged herself to the ceiling fan in her room. The parents who learned about her death on Friday morning alerted the police, who registered a case and sent the body for an autopsy. On the other hand, learning the death of Rukmini, Pavan switched off his phone and has gone absconding. A search was launched by the police to nab him.
