KCR move sends revenue staff union to seer

Hyderabad: There is no possibility of meeting Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, their department has no minister and IAS officers are not giving appointments. Under these circumstances, revenue department employees’ union leaders met seer Chinna Jeeyar Swamy on Saturday to take his blessings.


Employees’ union leader Golkonda Satish said that they were agitated over the speculation that the revenue department would be abolished or merged with another department. He said the state government was planning to change the 200-year-old revenue department and the collector’s name. He said they had requested the seer to see to it that the revenue department was not abolished and the Chinna Jeeyar Swamy had replied that they would not face any problems.


Mr Satish requested the Chief Minister to bring in changes but not abolish the department. He said the employees were ready to accept the changes proposed by the government. The Chief Minister was discussing the issue only with higher officials in the revenue department, he said, and requested that the views of the junior employees also be taken.
