KCR directed TRS leaders to win all ZPPs and majority of MPPs

The ruling TRS, which has set a target of winning 16 Lok Sabha seats, now aims to win all 32 Zilla Praja Parishads (ZPP) and more than 530 Mandal Praja Parishads (MPPs) in the State. Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao directed the party leaders, including ministers and legislators, to work in complete coordination to ensure that the TRS wins a majority of ZPPs and MPPs in all the 32 districts. In the extended executive committee meeting of TRS at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, the Chief Minister also finalised the candidature of Kova Lakshmi for ZP chairperson’s post. The meeting lasted for over two hours, where Chandrashekhar Rao spoke and discussed various issues. Elections are scheduled to be held before May 23 for 535 ZPTC and 5,857 MPTC posts in the State.

Chandrashekhar Rao reportedly assigned each ZP to a senior party leader and asked the MLAs to take responsibility of Mandal Parishads in their respective constituencies. The legislators were instructed to coordinate with the party leadership to finalise the candidatures for the chairpersons posts as well as executive council members. MLAs were also given the responsibility of selecting candidates for ZPTC and MPTC posts as well as ensure their victory.

He also wanted the legislators to give opportunity to leaders who recently joined TRS from other parties. He is learnt to have assured sitting MLAs that they would get party tickets in the next election if they work for the people and resolve their issues.
