Data of 10 lakh students was shared with a private company: Revanth Reddy

Telangana Congress working president A. Revanth Reddy has ridiculed the claims of TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao of being ignorant of Globarena Technologies, in the light of controversy over Intermediate results, and reminded that the contract to the firm was given when Mr. Rama Rao was the IT Minister.

At a press conference here, Mr. Reddy alleged that the data of 10 lakh students was shared with a private company and the proprietors are close to KTR. In fact, Globarena and Magnetic Infotech, which handled results earlier are owned by the same people and everyone knows their acquaintance with the TRS working president, he claimed.

He also alleged that Magnetic Infotech had a role in the EAMCET paper leakage in 2016. No case was registered against them and in fact the entire investigation is now in the cold storage, he alleged.

Two suspects in the leakage have also died under suspicious circumstances and the investigation is heading nowhere.

Mr. Reddy said there was a huge education mafia behind this and it was a scam of nothing less than ? 10,000 crore. Corporate colleges were managing one institution to get marks of their choice for their preferred students. But the government is not acknowledging the magnitude of the problem. “Why is the Chief Minister not speaking on the issue,” he asked.

He said that both Magnetic and Globarena had cheated the JNTU Kakinada as well and a case was registered and the investigation is on. He also released documents showing how an inquiry was instituted into JNTU Kakinada and Globarena tie-up for automation of examinations system with financial commitment of ? 268 crore. “How come such a huge contract was given to one single firm on a single tender was the doubt raised by the Vigilance and Enforcement Department of Andhra Pradesh in its report submitted last year.”

Personal verification

Mr. Reddy demanded that answer sheets of all the students should be placed online for personal verification as they lost confidence in the Intermediate Board now. Despite such a big hue and cry the reverification process is again entrusted to Globarena, he said.He also questioned as to why Intermediate JAC chairman Madhusudhan Reddy was supporting KTR. Who is he to say that KTR has no role, he asked and demanded an immediate clarification from the government.

If the response from the government doesn’t come in a day Telangana Youth Congress president Anil Kumar Yadav will sit on a 24-hour dharna. Later, the party would decide on the future course of action, he said.
