Tennis coach arrested for stealing

Hyderabad: A tennis coach from the city was arrested by the KPHB police on Wednesday for stealing gold and silver articles from his students’ houses.


Komali Ramakrishna (24), a native of Subbaraopeta, East Godavari district, AP, had been living in Satavahan Nagar Colony in the city. Over time, he established himself as a private tennis coach in the locality and began training aspirants. He even offered to pick up and drop the children as an excuse to conduct a recce of their houses.


Ramakrishna broke into a student’s house on 27th April while no one was home and stole gold and silver articles. Subsequently, a case was registered with the KPHB police in connection with the theft.


After carefully analysing the available technical clues, the police nabbed Ramakrishna near Patel Nagar around 7 am on Wednesday. When questioned at the police station, he confessed to committing two burglaries. Based on his confession, 11 tolas of gold, 2.5 kg of silver articles, a bike, a television, and a mixer were recovered from his house, and he was placed under arrest, said the police.
