Singareni gets fourth rank among India's top 25 thermal power plants

Hyderabad: Singareni Thermal Power Plant (STPP) at Jaipur in Mancherial district secured fourth place among top 25 thermal power plants in the country by achieving 90 per cent PLF (Plant Load Factor) in the last nine months period.

Now, the authorities are aiming at achieving top rank by the end of current fiscal. For the month of December, STPP Unit-I plant achieved 100 per cent PLF and Unit-II recorded 99 per cent PLF. As a result, the aggregate PLF for nine months was 90 per cent which ensured fourth place for STPP among 25 top thermal power plants in the country.

“We have supplied 10,658 million units power to the State grid at the end of December. As the State government launched 24×7 power supply scheme, we will ensure power generation to full capacity and ensure top rank in the country,” said N Sridhar, Chairman and Managing Director of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) at a review meeting with the officials here on Saturday.

Sridhar asked the officials to commence works for setting up 10 MW solar power plant at STPP region in Jaipur. Director (E&M) S Shankar and other officials attended the meeting.
