Citizen forums to be more effective in Nalgonda soon

Nalgonda: Superintendent of District Jail D Srinivas on Wednesday said measures would be taken up for effective functioning of Citizen’s Forums, an initiative of Telangana Prisons Department for a better society and to transform villages into clean and green habitations.

The department conducted a workshop in Nalgonda for the members of Citizens Forums in the district for which 150 persons from various walks of lives attended.

Speaking at the workshop, Srinivas said Citizens’ Forums were set up from village level to district level and now they need to intensify their activities. He said the forums had already conducted service-oriented programmes such as removing the wastes from the parks, which were in bad condition.

“We are taking note of the opinion of the members at the workshop on how to improve the services in their area. Based on the feedback, programmes, which would be useful to the society, would be taken up in their areas”, he said.

State committee members of Citizens’ Forum Srinath Reddy and others also attended the workshop.
