TRS will fight against it with the support of various Dalit organisations

Nizamabad MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Saturday alleged that the atrocities on SC, STs and women in the country were increasing and they were feeling insecure. As the Union government is trying to weaken the SC, ST Act, TRS will fight against it with the support of various Dalit organisations, she said.

On Saturday, the MP conducted media meet at her office along with MLC VG Goud, Nizamabad Urban MLA Bigala Ganesh Gupta, Nizamabad Mayor Aakula Sujatha and TS REDCO Chairman SA Alleem. “TRS fought for the statehood movement drawing inspiration from Dr. BR Ambedkar and achieved it with the help of Article 3 of the Indian constitution. We implemented his ideology in various government schemes,” she said.

The MP condemned the attacks on SCs and minorities in UP and Kashmir. She further demanded that Union government should stop their attempts in amending the SC/ST Atrocities Act and provide security to the backward classes.

“People are seeing for an alternative govt and there is huge scope for ‘Progressive Front’ in the country,” she said.She said that the State government spent Rs 6,713 crores in the last three years for the upliftment of Dalits and implemented various schemes for the benefit of SC/STs such as KG to PG education, Kalyana Lakshmi, etc. As a result, government junior colleges achieved 69 per cent passing results compared to last year of 58 per cent.

The Nizamabad MP congratulated boxer Hussamuddin for winning bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games and said that he was an inspiration for the youth.
