More than 700 Muslim candidates from various parts of the State on Saturday appeared for a screening test to avail free civil service coaching being offered by Minority Welfare Department.
According to SA Shukoor, Director, Centre for Educational Development of Minorities, eight centres were set up in different parts of the State and after scrutiny of the applications, 725 candidates were allowed to write test. Of these, 100 will be shortlisted on the basis of merit.The State government will provide free coaching through private coaching centers in Hyderabad to these 100 selected candidates by spending Rs 1.51 lakh for each candidate, he added.
SA Shukoor said last year 95 minority students were selected and they got nine months free training. Meanwhile, AK Khan, Advisor to government on Minority Welfare and Shahnawaz Qasim, director, Minority Welfare visited a centre and inspected the arrangement made for the test.
