A Pakistani national was arrested for illegally staying in India and marrying a local woman while claiming to be a citizen. When she got to know that he was an illegal immigrant, he threatened that he would upload obscene pictures of her 12-year-old daughter on the internet if she revealed his secret. The 41-year-old illegally entered India via Nepal, Cyber Crime police said.
The victim met Mohd Usman Ikram alias Mohd Abbas Ikram, of Mianwali of Pakistan, while she was working in Dubai and married him there after he claimed that he was a resident of Delhi. She later discovered his true identity. After she returned to India, he followed her by alleging that he was on a six-month visit visa, said DCP, CCS, Avinash Mohanty.
“The woman was married and had two children, including a 12-year-old girl who was secretly filmed by Usman,” Mr Mohanty said. Usman messaged a friend of the victim, stating that he would expose her daughter’s nude photos to the public and tried to blackmail her. He used to torture her for money, the official said. The woman approached the cyber crime police here, following which cases were booked against Usman and an investigation started, leading to his arrest.
It was found that Usman was from Punjab of Pakistan. “He entered Nepal from Pakistan by air, from where he illegally crossed the border by road and arrived in Delhi before reaching Chaderghat. After arriving in India, he had created fake documents, education degrees through various agents and was doing sundry jobs in private firms. His antecedents and activities are being verified,” Mr Mohanty said.
