he Telangana State Waqf Board officials have registered a complaint against illegal occupants of about 90 acres of waqf land under survey numbers 1 to 9 attached to Masjid Aalamgir, Eidgah and graveyard in Guttala Begumpet village near Madhapur. The case was registered after a recent inspection by waqf officials who noticed that illegal occupants have set up temporary sheds and erected fences on the land despite gazette notification by the Waqf Board and several court orders halting construction in the area.

"Despite the Waqf Board registering complaints with the police, these occupants started fencing the land. The waqf inspector and other officials filed a criminal case earlier this week," a Waqf Board official said.

The High Court, earlier this year, had directed the Waqf Board to listen to all the claimants and issue a gazette notification after reviewing the documents produced by them. The board issued a notice to all the illegal occupants asked them to produce documents supporting their claim. After reviewing the documents, the Waqf Board rejected their claim and issued fresh gazette notification. This notification was again challenged in the High Court seeking stay order. But the High Court rejected the plea and refused to issue stay order.

The waqf officials said the case was registered against Pallavi Constructions, KSN Murthy, Dr Suma, Chandrashekar, Raju and Rajeshan, who continued construction on the land despite the court order. "A case has been registered for trespassing under Sections 447 and 427 of IPC," Madhapur inspector R Kalinga Rao said.
