The Dalit Girijana Simhagarjana – a public meeting of dalit and tribals groups to be held on Sunday, would send a strong signal to the Central Government which is adopting fascist methods to suppress certain sections, said Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti leader Manda Krishna.

Speaking to newsmen at the venue after reviewing the arrangements, he said the BJP is trying to dilute the SC/ST Atrocities Act. The meeting would witness several national leaders representing all political partiesLeader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury, Ajit Jogi, Prakash Ambedkar and several others would arrive here to address the public meeting.

Mr. Krishna said violent protests erupted in northern States immediately after the Supreme Court ruling on March 30, and 11 people died. The atrocities on dalits and tribals are on the rise across the country, he alleged.“We will unite all the groups and follow Gandhian way. We will educate them and how they should use the vote to defeat these fascist forces. The public meeting will set the agenda and our future course of action,” he said.Mr. Krishna said unlike the conventional political parties, they are not spending money for mobilisation of people but only appealed to all dalits and tribals to turn up and make the meeting a grand success.

“We have sent invitations to all anti-BJP parties across the country. However, we could not meet Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao even after repeated attempts. It would be good to see all the national leaders on one stage fighting for one cause,” he said.
