Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary narrowly escaped a major accident here on Saturday when a speeding lorry collided with an escort vehicle in his convoy.
The accident took place when Mr. Chary was returning to Bhupalpally from his constituency, Ganapuram. The police said the lorry driver could have been drowsy. The Speaker visited the village on Friday and spent the night there as part of ‘Palle Nidra’ programme. Later, the Speaker went ahead with his scheduled programmes in the district.
