Days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi showered praises on Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao-led TRS government for “going on the path of development,’’ senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya on Sunday took a dig at the State government saying that even though the Central government was releasing funds for panchayats, the state government was not allocating funds to villages.

“The Centre has even sanctioned a railway coaches factory to Telangana but the state government has still not allocated a place for the factory,’’ the former Union Minister said. Dattatreya on Sunday held a meeting with his party leaders during which various issues were discussed.

Criticising the State government for failing to conduct the Gram Panchayat elections as per schedule, Dattatreya demanded the resignation of Panchayati Raj minister Jupally Krishna Rao. “In 2019 elections, the people of Telangana will teach a lesson to the TRS,’’ he said. He alleged that unless people say they support TRS, they are not being given subsidies or any other benefits by the State government.
