A cheating case was registered against senior Congress party leader and former chief whip Gandra Venkatramana Reddy by the Subedari police here on Sunday. The police have also booked him under several other IPC sections including 417, 506 and 507.Subedari Inspector Sadaiah said they had registered a case against Venkataramana Reddy based on a complaint lodged by one Vijayalaxmi Reddy, who runs an NGO called ‘Mother’ in Warangal.

Earlier in the day, Vijayalaxmi Reddy had staged a dharna in front of the residence of Venkatramana Reddy at Waddepally, accusing him of cheating and sexual harassment. She claimed that she had been allegedly in a relationship with Venkatramana Reddy, but he abandoned her recently.“We were in a relationship for four year and after sexually using me, he cheated me and dumped me. I want justice,” she added.

However, Venkatramana Reddy, in a statement, refuted all allegations made by Vijayalaxmi Reddy, and said it was a conspiracy against him by his rivals. “It seems like a well planned handiwork of my political rivals who want to tarnish my image. I have nothing to do with this woman.”he added.
