Works pertaining to construction of 2BHK houses are going on a war-footing with the State government committed to completing the construction of 2 lakh houses of the total target of 2.72 lakh in the State by December end. The idea of providing decent double-bedroom houses to the poor came from Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who during the Telangana movement had seen the hardships faced by the poor living in tiny houses, Minister for Housing, Endowments and Law Allola Indrakaran Reddy tells Pradeep Mandhumula.In an exclusive interview, the Minister spoke on a wide range of subjects pertaining to his departments including free housing for the poor, emergence of Yadadri temple as a must see destination and the government’s fight for division of the High Court.
