TS: Rs 73 lakh in cash seized on Tuesday

Around Rs 73 lakh in cash and seven kilos of silver articles were seized on Tuesday during checking conducted by the police teams in Manchal, Moinabad, Cheryala and Hyderabad.In Hyderabad, the Sultan Bazar Police seized Rs 14.90 Lakh in cash from a businessman while Abids police arrested a man with Rs 35 Lakh in cash. Both of them along with the cash have been handed over the I-T department.

In the first incident, a man identified as Ilesh Kumar was arrested near Kachiguda cross roads. “He claimed that the money was meant for his business purpose. We have handed him and the cash over to the I-T department for further enquiries,” said police inspector K. Subbarami Reddy.

In the second incident, Susheel Sharma was nabbed by Abids police during a routine vehicle checking. He was carrying Rs 35 lakh cash in his vehicle's boot. "He did not reveal the authenticity of the cash, so we handed him over to the I-T department for investigation" said police inspector Kandula Ravi Kumar.

On Tuesday, Vikarabad police seized 7 kg silver articles from a car which was heading towards Tandur from Vikarabad. At Manchal, a man identified as C. Venu was caught while carrying Rs 17 lakh on his two-wheeler. At Cheryal, police arrested N. Tirupati Reddy who was carrying Rs 6 lakh cash.
