TS Polls: EC officials reviews poll preparations

Chief election commissioner O.P. Rawat on Tuesday asked the district collectors and superintendents of police that they were the representatives of Election Commission and responsible for conducting free and fair polling.The Election Commission team headed by Mr Rawat on Tuesday held a meeting with the collectors and SPs to review preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections. Mr Rawat said that the collectors and SPs should exhibit professionalism and commitment in the duties and take extra care for extending facilities to the disabled and senior citizens.

He said that the officials have to focus on every aspect and concentrate up to polling booth-level. He asked them to be fair and impartial. The SPs have explained the measures being taken on the law and order issues. He also asked the officials asked to rectify if there are any errors in the voters list.
