Police stopped Harish Rao's vehicle and conducted a search

Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao was in for a surprise on Wednesday when Siddipet police stopped his vehicle and conducted a search. The police were carrying out vehicles checks to prevent supply of liquor and money in view of the Assembly elections in the State.Harish Rao, who was returning to Siddipet from Husnabad after electioneering during the day, asked the police to check his vehicle near the District Collectorate as per the directives of the Election Commision. The police, after a thorough search, allowed him to proceed.The Congress has been crying hoarse over opposition parties’ vehicles being targeted for checks, an allegation denied by the Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy, in his reply to the TS Chief Electoral Officer.
