BJP candidates second list may out today or tomorrow

The BJP is keen on releasing its second list of candidates within a day or two. The party’s State unit president K Laxman is scheduled to meet election in-charge and Union Minister JP Nadda on Wednesday in New Delhi and the names are likely to be announced after the meeting.BJP, which has decided to contest all the 119 Assembly segments in the State, had earlier released its first list of 38 candidates. On Wednesday, the party’s election committee members led by Laxman met in a private hotel to finalise the second list of candidates. After two hours of discussion with committee members G Kishan Reddy, P Muralidhar Rao and Dattatreya, the second list of about 50 candidates is learnt to have been finalised.

Party sources said Laxman will be leaving for Delhi on Thursday with the list and after the parliamentary board’s approval, the names will be announced the same day or the next day. After announcement of the second list of candidates, the party wants to rope in national leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah to address public meetings in the State.

Addressing a press conference at State office, spokesperson Krishna Sagar Rao, alleging that the TDP had bought Congress at wholesale price, said Mahakutami was anti-Telangana. The people will reject it in the coming Assembly elections, he added.
