High Court rejects plea to stop govt ordinance on BC reservations

Hyderabad: The High Court for the state of  Telangana (HC) has rejected a plea by Opposition parties to stop an ordinance issued by Telangana government, giving 28 per cent reservations to Backward Classes (BCs). This is much less than the recommended 34 per cent. Hearing the plea, HC observed Panchayat elections will go on as per scheduled and as such the ordinance need not be stopped. Only, it asked the government to file a counter affadivit in the case. It has been put off to four weeks later.
