CP sets a deadline for Auto-drivers to get registered

The city police commissioner Anjani Kumar on Friday told the auto-rickshaw drivers and owners to get registered themselves by January 17 in a bid to provide safety for passengers. Over 1.40 lakh drivers ply in the city without any documents and license, the commissioner added. The registration has to be done in the prescribed format with valid documents. The sticker issued to the auto drivers after registration should be placed in such a way that it is visible to passengers sitting in the rear seat. Anjani Kumar also said that the registration is valid for a period of one year and on expiry, the auto-drivers have to apply for renewal.
