Bharat Ratna Request To PV Narasimha Rao By Jana Reddy

K. Jana Reddy, the Opposition leader in the Telangana Legislative Assembly, requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to posthumously honour former Prime Minister late P.V. Narasimha Rao with a Bharat Ratna.In a letter addressed to Mr Modi, Mr Reddy listed Mr Narasimha Rao’s several political and personal achievements, which he believed merited the honour. He said that Mr Rao, was an economist, a political reformer, a multi-linguist with knowledge of over ten languages, and a great writer. Through his six-decade-long political career, he held a variety of posts in the State and Central Governments, and came to known as a “political Chanakya”.
